Vanessa Wu, native in Chengdu, once a New Yorker, currently residing in Cambridge, MA, is an M.Arch I candidate at Harvard GSD. A former actuary and still a mathematician at heart, she got her undergraduate degree in Math from Smith College and had worked in a data analytic firm for five years. She believes that the joy of studying is not just about learning the elements but the discovery of the relationships among them. In her teaching, she wishes to bring out the individuals’ talents and uniqueness through understanding and enhancing each person’s strength. “Inside every stone there is a statue” is a quote she keeps close to the heart.
